Bottles Deep
03:21
|
|||
Out amongst the evergreen hills of Ireland
I left my conceit hung, tattered rope
the ocean front
I wont return to you gently seeped in morning dew
Ill be deep in the craze
of a dream that I curated
another dream you said you hated
for me
Within our reckless lives
I stayed coy, you stayed blithe
waves pounding through the hurricane
paralysis of former gain
yet this skeleton remains
intact for you
I was bottles deep when I walked into the sea
I wrote letters home, to my beloved folk
away from kin
and relationships I'd earned
all that you took for granted for its easy seeped in money
through the shipwreck, privilege flickers in your eyes
My fathers heart,
My mothers fame
I want it all, to purge the shame
my recompense for your disdain
was all these
bottles of liquor
All these bottles of liquor
all these bottles of liquor
all these bottles of liquor
all these bottles of liquor
and a stage
Within our reckless lives
I stayed coy, you stayed blithe
waves pounding through the hurricane
paralysis of former gain
yet this skeleton remains
this body will remain

Blood Flows Cold
03:21
|
|||
Quiet communion
within these scared rolling hills
Feet sprawled, breaths deep
Holding my heart upon my palms
Each vein counted
With these precious days
Learned through the blood that flows
Hot and now cold
Known to be volatile
When lost without contemplation

Lilts That Sew Our Home
04:28
|
|||
I watch the window closely
and hold my bottle tight
I make room for my lingering rust
you make room for my linger light
The wind and the willows,
will me to sleep
when Im heartsick for your home,
the wild of the Prairies whisper to me
when I'm drunk and stoned and alone
I tread tediously along the lines of
functioning and not
I've been holding on tight to the memory
that you forgot
your afraid of the uneasy
Im afraid to let you down
We knew from the start that my
body would move
from town to reckless town
I watch the valley closely
deeply for I know
you've been searching for years
lost in wild crocus boughs
searching for the wisdom carried
in your sacred bones
so delicate to offset lofty lilts that sew our home

Scarlett
03:21
|
|||
Scarlett draws a blue line
a skyline
each time her eyes sweep a room
she knows she could be ancient
wont be patient entering
her wizened tomb
Scarlett please, each time you nearly leave
every soul, that you hold we hear the choir
Scarlett know, each time you nearly go
I walk that line and I want to run to you
Scarlett smells of waterfalls
of black stone and sinew
her disguise is studied eloquent
she ruminates on sacred strength
on galaxies and their equations on lackluster
well regarded lies
Scarlett please, each time you nearly leave
every soul, that you hold we hear the choir
Scarlett know, each time you nearly go
my mind is numb and I want to learn from you
The ancient keep their company
with the weary and the hard to please
Oh Scarlett, don't leave me with them
two bottles in her hand
she wakes up dreaming that she's finally landed
she knows she's put in her time
To grow ancient
to grow weathered
to grow cold
to want to go
Scarlett please ,each time you nearly leave
every soul, that you hold we hear the choir
Scarlett know, each time you nearly go
the world gets loud and I can't drown it out either

Sullen & Sweet
05:59
|
|||
A halter, A headlock
my sweetheart in bed knocks the milk to the floor
when I asked him, to go
well tears on the dredge line the tailings I left behind
The mountains I was asked to climb
before my heart turned over
and sullen & sweet a small northern town weeps
Don't ask me about home
its three miles west
wrecked for the best
and a ferry to creep on
to sleep on the floor
Oh my heartache was not tailored
for your simple needs when you switched your desire
said goodbye on the rail line
Ill see you in sweet time your flight leaves at midnight
and I've got to go
I woke up on the Prairies
knees week from failing the hearts that we shared
I left signs in the milkweed
the pastel pink bleeds on your sullen heart
and my sunken home
Saw my depth in the crossline's
'tween your time and my time
breaks grind and your fine
the risks that I can't take
like your home in my gate
Dear I'll move fast now you've found your own

Dear Friends
03:01
|
|||
The reapers been heard wailing
as he's scrape as he's scraping
through the coals
of those who've been thrown wayward
trying to avoid the fall
Embers pressed against night skies
they fly high
then dissolve
mark our skin
smoke drifting through the burrows
The Redwoods fire a warning sign
the oceans warned us all
cannot sit back and repeat dear friends
as we feel your ashes fall
Resiliance through martyrdom
we all begin to preach
as preachers fall to wayside
pleading with retreat
Lie warm, dear friends
in your last amends
Dear friends
still waiting for the fall
dear freinds
still waiting for the fall
